Registering as a Guest on SwaRail: How to Check PNR and Fares Without an Account

3. How to Check PNR Status as a Guest

This is the most common reason people use Guest Mode. Here is how to do it:

• On the home dashboard, tap the "PNR Status" icon.
• Enter the 10-digit PNR number printed on the top-left corner of your physical ticket or SMS.
• Tap "Check Status."

Because SwaRail connects directly to the CRIS mainframe, the response is instant. The app will show you the passenger names, current charting status (Confirmed, RAC, or Waitlisted), and the specific coach and berth numbers if the chart is prepared.

4. Tracking Live Trains Without an Account

• You Cannot Book a Ticket: If you find an available seat and click "Book Now," the app will immediately pause and prompt you to log in. Indian law requires passenger identification to buy a train ticket.
• You Cannot Use UTS: You cannot generate a paperless local ticket. UTS requires geo-fencing and an R-Wallet, both of which require a registered mobile number.
• You Cannot File a Complaint: The Rail Madad module requires a verified identity to prevent spam complaints.
